I've been here a couple of times now, and the first time was great! The second time my service was terrible! I think my waiter disappeared halfway through my meal, never to be seen again! My glass of water was empty for half of the time that I was here... Is there nobody to refill it? The food is good, yes. But the waitstaff was terribly rude to myself and my friend who were dining together. I am still sitting here, waiting for my check to come. It has been 15 minutes now...

Went for lunch today. Eh. That's what I think when I come here. Ordered the Cobb salad which on the menu said "mixed greens" but it came out with iceberg lettuce. My SO ordered the Mongolian beef and rated it "average." Service was average. When I have come for dinner it is so noisy that you have to yell to be heard, but not so bad at lunch time.

The elephant bar brings a lot of elements into one. Upon entering there are various displays and animals to draw you attention away from the outside world and into a dining experience. The bar, dining area, and kitchen are all I one big room, and that adds to the experience in my opinion. Arriving during happy hour, we quickly grabbed a couple brews to get things started, and a couple orders of calamari...very good...and ill start by saying everyone really enjoyed their meal. I ordered the blacken Mahi-mahi that was perfectly prepared, added some veggies for a great meal. Others ordered salads, specials of the evening, and burgers...all were agreed upon, as very good. Overall, I really like the elephant bar, and the service for a table of 10 was very good.

Great looking restaurant and great atmosphere. This is an upscale restaurant and bar. In fact, the prices of beer would make you feel like your at the ballpark. $8 beers, $9 cocktails, $8-$17 apps. Go early during happy hour for $1 off your beer. (Really just $1?) The food is ok, but nothing to write home about, especially for the price. Don't get me wrong, it's good food but I felt is was overpriced for the quality/quantity. All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. Our server didn't know the menu well, nor did they bring everything we ordered. We were even overcharged. It was all taken care of though. Overall, I would go back again, but probably won't because for the amount we paid, it just didn't meet my expectations. Tip: Takes 15 minutes to get your mix drinks. Order in advance. Other reviewers had same comments.

A little bit pricier than we usually do for family events, but service was great and the food was good. My parents were very excited to bring me here because they loved the atmosphere. I missed my chance to take a selfie with the huge Elephant at the entrance, but just more reason to go back right? I liked that a lot of the tables were for larger groups and their booths looked like they might even seat 8 people. Everything was very cozy and welcoming so I can see why friends have mentioned hanging out there before. I have been hearing about the Elephant Bar for a long time, I'm kind of disappointed that I waited this long to see what they were talking about! The menu had so many things that looked interesting that I couldn't decide what to get! I liked that there were a few pictures, so I could see how things would come out. I settled on chicken marsala and that wasn't my best choice, because while I like mushrooms, something about marsala sauce I don't usually like. The mushrooms and chicken were perfect. I definitely look forward to trying all of my other top runners soon!

I was pleasantly surprised by my recent happy hour trip to Elephant Bar. Friends suggested it; I wasn't too excited because I had been there once years ago and was unimpressed. We sat in the bar and were well taken care of by the bartender. We ordered a variety of appetizers. The standout was the fried green beans. It came with an almost creamy sweet and sour dipping sauce. The combination was completely addictive!! I even used it for other items we ordered. The drinks were mixed STRONG, almost too strong as I hardly drink nowadays. Two of them and I wouldn't have been comfortable driving home. The bartender had no problem separating the checks for my group of four. I'd come back for those green beans!

First time here , stopped in on a hunbug was not disappointed by all means. We ordered the Tempura salmon rolled to share and then he had Pub burger and I had Mediterranean chicken breast Delish, I may add. Well return in the near future. Only negative for me is that I'm a wings girl. I needed them to have some for me to taste.

Variety of food is nice, but some items better than others. Sat in the dining room once for a business dinner and all the food and drinks turned out well. Garlic bread was delicious but I have a weak spot for it haha. Ordered the lobster and steak and it was fine. Nelly sat behind us. I go to the happy hour pretty often BC the deals are more wallet friendly than the dining room and food is again good, but not extremely unique BC it is a chain.

Aside from being a bit overpriced I really like this place. It is a tad too noisy, but the chefs who are all Mexican nationals make an excellent faux Asian cuisine. Also the jambalaya is excellent. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff round out a very good meal.

Went here the other night for the second time. I love the atmosphere here, it makes it such a cool experience. However, the service left something to be desired. I know they were busy, but the wait for everything took to long. We waited 25 minutes for our dessert and then another 10 minutes for our check. It just seemed a little obscene to me. Not saying I won't go back, but I will make sure I'm not in any kind of rush!!!

My grandparents took us here for dinner while we were visiting. We've been there before a couple times with them but it's been awhile. I had forgotten what their menu was like and wasn't expecting it to be so Asian-fusion based (not my favorite). For a place with lots of wood-fired plates, I expected more steaks and pizza kind of dishes. However, they do have a large menu. We got the chicken potstickers for an appetizer which were pretty good. I ended up with a cheeseburger which was also good, but I have had better burgers. My mom had the Mongolian beef dish which she really enjoyed. My sister had the lettuce wraps off the appetizer section but was plenty of food for one. I tried hers too and it was good. She really liked it. Everything came in pretty large portions. Service was alright. We had no wait on a Friday night for 5 which was a plus. Cool atmosphere.

Go to their happy hour on Friday; 3-4 dollar cocktails paired with cheap appetizers make for a fun time. Plus, Elephant Bar has one of the best burgers I've had in recent memory.

Ordinarily Elephant Bar is a great experience. Been there many times when they would go over and above to make us happy. However, we took out Thursday night dinner group there and it has gone downhill fast. One person did not get the side salad she ordered; my husband's Mongolian beef was "just OK"; and my "Thai High Sweet and Zesty Chicken Salad" was bag salad with a little chicken. Apparently the restaurant is under new management. Sad. We won't be back.

Stopped in with my wife while we were at the West County Center for shopping. Unfortunately we were both disappointed. It seemed like this may have been a nice place a while back but not so much anymore. It was about 1/3 full during lunch on a holiday weekend, the service was friendly but the food was underwhelming. I had the Bleu Cheese & Pear Burger with fries, while my wife had the Petit Sirloin. It seemed like the pear and bleu cheese combo would be a killer taste pairing, but the patty pretty much ruined it. Even though it was cooked properly, the patty itself was bland and tough--almost like a preformed burger? The krinkle-fries they served on the side were oily. My wife commented that her steak was tough and bland as well. Will probably skip this one next time we are in the area--hopefully they can step up their game in the kitchen.

It's easy to understand why this place is such a success in its location. Typical mall-outlot restaurant. An extensive menu offering something for everyone, but nothing extraordinary. I wasn't too hungry so I just went for a sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Its been a couple of weeks and I don't even remember what the sandwich was, but it was good. The food was fine - hard to complain about your food in a place like this. Its not like you eat here expecting to be blown away by a culinary masterpiece. I did find it odd that the salmon roll appetizer contained cooked salmon. Over-cooked salmon, to be exact. Still, not bad just an odd attempt to cater to the sushi-squeamish shopper. Service was fine, but the place was so cold that Husband went back to the car to get me one of his work jackets from the trunk. Overall, I might eat here again as a target of opportunity but won't rush back here deliberately.

I came here for dinner with my mom and brother before doing a bit of shopping at the mall. I personally would have preferred one or two of the other restaurants located at West County Mall, but my mom was excited to use a 20% off senior discount card that she received. It was her first senior discount, so of course, I had to be there to help celebrate this special occasion that makes aging seem worthwhile in her eyes. At 5:30 on weekday, there was no wait, and the three of us were seated in a cozy booth. I felt like I was on a safari adventure... not only because dining with my family is always an adventure, but due to the fact that I was surrounded by animal statues and prints, large plants, and old luggage sets. Interesting. Most of the food offerings here are asian inspired. After reviewing the menu and seeing the nearby plates of fellow diners, I noticed that the veggies served with most entrees totally resembled a bag of frozen veggies in my freezer at home that were topped with a bit of soy sauce. So I opted for the chicken marsala instead. The chicken itself was just okay... it was sautéed and a bit rubbery. It was served with mashed potatoes and parmesan topped sautéed spinach, both of which were fine. My brother ordered one of the asian beef dishes, which was served with those veggies I wanted to avoid and choice of white or brown rice. He complained that his meat was extremely salty. My lovely mother raved about her ribeye sliders, fries, and side salad. I personally think she was still just overwhelmed by the joy of soon being able to use her very first senior discount. Our service was decent throughout the entire meal... entrees were served in a timely manner and drinks never went empty. Fast forward to paying the bill. My mom happily hands over the senior discount card that she had just received approximately one month before, and was told they no longer offer the senior discount. Sorry mom! Let me know if you get a discount for a nice steak house or Italian restaurant next time, as I doubt I will be returning to Elephant Bar anytime soon.

This is a typical chain restaurant where you can have a typical chain restaurant dining experience. The only point of differentiation is that they offer a more global menu of Americanized food. Not bad, not good - just middle of the road. I had a Thai-style tilapia dish that was good but not great. The fish itself was cooked nicely but the peppers were neither dry and able to be crumbled or re-hydrated and fork-tender. Instead, they were rubbery and hard to use to spice up the dish. Likewise, our appetizer was a bit off too - who puts cooked salmon in a salmon roll?

I don't know why I decided to go here and order "Asian" food. I used to love everything about Elephant Bar. Everything was yummy for a chain restaurant, but I hadn't gone for a few years and didn't realize most of the items I loved were taken off the menu. We usually order the seared ahi tuna. The tuna was warm and the sauce was bitter. I tried something new, the Macau shrimp noodle soup and the tempura Salmon Roll. The soup had no depth in flavor and was lukewarm. The salmon roll was also bland. There was no exotic flavors at all. Again I ask, why did I order Asian food here? I think I'm done with Elephant or at least this one.

Very inconsistent food quality. Service is adequate but on again, off again. Disappointed at the overall dining experience. I am unlikely to return.

Waited too long to get water. Waiter was curt, didn't seem to care about his job or us. Two feet away and didn't hear us say "Uh, this plate is dirty." just continued to walk away. Chicken gyozas were very good. Mac and cheese was over-cooked. The addition of garlic powder was a nice touch. The French onion ribeye sliders were very disappointing. Doubt that was ribeye and unfortunately, cooked "well". Not that I expect to be asked how I want sliced ribeye to be cooked but seriously, why ruin a fine cut of beef (which this was not)? Au jus was tasteless. The philly was just ok. Seemed like the same meat from my sliders. Overall, everything seemed like it came frozen in a bag. In fact, we saw a cook opening one of the bags. Salad seemed like it came out of a bag, too. One of those kits from the grocery store. One of the cooks was occasionally snacking *while* wearing his gloves. Also, fist-bumped a waiter. Hope he changes those gloves. Another customer's napkin laid on the floor for a good ten minutes while numerous waitstaff passed it by (even saw one directly look at it). Finally someone cared enough to actually pick it up. Food not sitting well. Heavy kind of feeling. For as fancy as this place seems to think it is, it really needs to step up their game. Or get some game to begin with.

So the boyfriend and I came here for a date because my grandparents had given me a giftcard. And I must say I only wish I could come out to West County more often! Our hostess and server were both super sweet and awesome. The service was superb, which says a lot because I am a server and I am a big scrutinizer of good service. Point is, I was happy with the service. Now the main point here is the food. We started the dinner with some water, root beer, the boyfriend had a budweiser, the Wok Fired Chicken Lettuce Wraps (~$8.95 chopped chicken, water chestnuts, roasted cashews, topped with toasted coconut flakes and fresh salsa and tamarind macadamia sauce on the side) and the Parmesan Crusted Green Beans with a sweet chili sauce (~$6.95). The appetizers were delicious. I personally ordered the green beans and my boyfriend started nomming on all of them without me! Haha For the entrees, Bis ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich (~$11.25) and it came with fries. That was one of the most perfect Philly cheese steak sandwiches I've ever had! The fries on the side were a little salty, but I enjoyed those too. I ordered the Tri-Tip(~$14.95), which was thinly sliced steak surrounding garlic mashed potatoes, topped with crispy onion strings and gravy. I asked to change the other side to sautéed vegetables, and it was super good. It was actually nice that our server warned me that some of the other sides would've been an additional charge (normally people don't tell you that! It's happened too often to us =___=). Only bad thing was that I filled my belly with so much of the yummy appetizers, I ended taking my entree home...and devoured it later. Haha, I need to make a visit back to this place. Awesome. Amazing. Loved it.

After shopping we thought we'd stop in for dinner as we had not eaten here before. Big mistake. The fact that it was 7:00 p.m. and we did not have to wait to be seated should have been my first indication that we should have dined elsewhere. With the exception of the pot stickers and a tasty green tea ginger beverage, the food was terribly marginal and bland. Huge disappointment. I ordered the Street tacos which turned out to be mini tacos (not indicated on the menu). These tacos lacked even a hint of seasoning and were completely flavorless. My daughter had the breaded chicken strips which were also flavorless. The service was OK, except that it took an extremely long time for our entrees to arrive following the appetizer. Will not be back.

I met a friend for lunch . . .that turned into a 3-hour business lunch. Our server was so gracious with replenishing beverages while we talked and talked and talked. We both ordered the Market Cobb Salad ($9.95) -- Wood-fired shredded chicken, hickory smoked bacon, avocado, tomato, mushrooms, crumbled gorgonzola cheese and chopped eggs with mixed greens. And with all the dressing offerings, we both got the bleu cheese. This was a massive salad. It took me so much time to blend the ingredients. But it was so fresh and so flavorful with the variety of ingredients. An amazing amalgam of flavors . . . soft, crunchy, fresh, tangy, tasty! I took 2/3 of the salad home, which served for two more meals. It was so good! But the topper was, I got an extra vessel of the bleu cheese dressing for my to-go vessel.

The assortment of food is Charlie wonderful. But sometimes the food is not as great as the menu or as it looks. The service here is generally decent depending upon which way do yet. Unfortunately if you have to wait in line. For a table it could be a long wait. Around dinner time and on the weekends I would absolutely call ahead for a reservation.

Blah. I had the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it had a different flavor - a very strong artichoke flavor, not creamy and cheesey like I'm used to. I can't say it was my favorite - it was very "eh". I tried a bite of my friends' appetizer - she had the chicken lettuce wraps and they were quite yummy! My burger was alright. The consistency of the patty was a bit irregular and the bacon bits were pretty flavorless. But the portion of cheese and of avocado were generous! The sweet potato fries weren't crispy or seasoned.

OK service. Below average food. I ordered the top sirloib, medium. It came out well done. No big deal...until the manager comes over and asks me to cut it open so that he can inspect it. I will never come back! Terrible experience!

Got the jambalaya - it was OK. She offered me Bourbon street rice instead of white rice. Nothing on the menu said that it would be an additional $2.00 for that rice. Slick. I had margaritas and the first two were REALLY tart and nearly impossible to drink without that immediate salivation response that you get from sucking on a lime. They were small and they are $8.50. Had they been delicious... fine. They weren't. My entree ended up being almost $18 after all of the upcharges. $50 for one entree and three small drinks. Sorry, No. One and done.

BF and I went with a 2 for $20 coupon. I got the chicken teriyaki and he got the chicken marsala. The chicken teriyaki was good. The only problem with it was very dry chicken. The brown rice and veggies were also very good. The chicken marsala had 2 VERY thin pieces of chicken and the marsala sauce tasted more like gravy. It was also very salty. He did not like this dish and wouldn't get again. The coupon also let us get a dessert, apple blueberry cobbler, and it was delicious!! I would suggest sticking to the wok inspired food as that is what they are known for. The service was ok... Our server spent much of her time on her cell phone and had to wait awhile to be greeted at the front door. We would only go back with a coupon as this restaurant can get a bit pricy. It came to $35 with 2 for $20 a beer ($5) and a Mai tai (7.25) + tax.

Attended my uncle's 89th birthday dinner with a party of 25 (a few small kids and well behaved). As a young adult I worked in the restaurant and bar business for approximately 12 to 15 years. We were seated at 415 pm . The restaurant was not busy has we arrived prior to dinner rush. Only 1 server was assigned to table of 25. First mistake was only assigning one server instead of 2 servers to break up the party for better service. Secondly they should have utilized one busser to serve waters initially. After 15 minutes and everyone finally got their drinks it was now 430. The food did not arrive until 45 to 50 minutes later. Unacceptable. Truthfully I blame management for this customer service error. You don't assign just one server for a party of 25. In order to give the proper service you need to at least split such a large party in half or in thirds. By the way when the food started to arrive the server had to ask, "Who ordered the . . .?" 3 of the orders were wrong as well. One more little tidbit, my son ordered a root beer. An extra sprite was brought and placed near the root beer. When son asks for a refill the servers says, "That's fine I'll get you one but there's an extra sprite right there. You can drink that for right now." I know I won't ever go back to this establishment. The food certainly wasn't all that impressive and the service was lackluster. My thoughts are that there are too many restaurants out there that can fill the void that the bad ones leave. Competition is high and this establishment got it wrong on many levels.

The atmosphere at this place was fun. They definitely ran with the safari theme, and it was fun to just look around for the first five minutes I was there. I ordered a grilled fish platter, and it was pretty good. Nothing overly special. But nothing bad either. I've heard really good things about their happy hour, so I'd like to check that out soon. I was surprised that at 7:00 it wasn't really crowded at all. It didn't start getting busy 'til around 9:00 - and that was on a Wednesday. Again, I would give this a 3.5 stars if I could, but in comparison to other places, I don't think this place is worth a 4.

If I would have been apart of YELP 2 years ago, this review probably would have been 5 stars--- I used to LOVE the Elephant Bar, and was always excited to come here. On a recent trip here after spending a day shopping with my sissy poo, she had decided to eat here- and i was okay with that. The service on this paticular black friday night-- was really slow-- I ordered a mich ultra and it took a few minutes (more than a few) to get my beer. We started off with the spinach dip app, and while it did come out pretty fast, i just really wasnt impressed by it---- and i LOVE a good spinach dip! My sissy had ordered some kind of pasta which she said she had enjoyed- I had ordered the Thai High Chicken Strir Fry which was a chicken with fresh veggies, and tossed in a ginger-spiced sweet and sour dressing-- Has elephant bar always been considered an asian flare restaurant?? I dont know, maybe I was just a little confused---- It HAS been a couple years since I had been, and there had definitely been a menu change. The chicken was----- good..... and by good i mean O-kay... Maybe it was just me, bc like i said, i normally love this place. Or maybe it was the spinach app that turned me off before hand- anyways, will i be back?--- ehh, someday-- maybe.. am i in a hurry?----no......

The Elephant Bar is a neat little place. We stopped in one night after a concert and had a few drinks and a light meal. I walked in and immediately saw a trendy Pan Asian Fusion restaurant that seemed interesting. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and a snack. The drink was pretty darn good, and large for what I expected. It was smooth and had good flavor. They seem to use good quality alcohol. The food was typical for what I expected. It wasn't anything to write home about, but still tasty. I bit pricier than I would have wanted, but nothing more than I expected. I don't see myself going back anytime soon, but that's not because I didn't enjoy it, it's just not my thing. You should still try it out, you may find it's right up your alley.

We came here to dine with friends who live spread out across the Metro area and determine that this place is centrally located enough for everyone in the group. Prior to agreeing on this place I don't know anything about it. After reading a couple yelp reviews I was hesitant but the deed had been done, we had to go anyways. The quality of food is as expected, below average. For appetizers we ordered calamari which came out soggy. Our friends ordered the fried green beans which was probably the only decent tasting thing we had at this restaurant. My husband and our friend ordered the same size of steak, 10 oz and somehow the friend's steak is thinner than my husband's. Husband ordered rare and got med-rare. Friend ordered med-rare and got rare. I ordered blackened mahi with some mango salsa and rice which was under-seasoned and very plain. The service was good. But we probably won't be back. Too high price point for below mediocre food. No thanks.

Came with a friend on a Saturday night. This place was fully packed, we were giving a pager to wait. The wait wasn't too bad, it was only about 15mins. We ordered 1 appetizer to share and 2 entrees. Chicken Lettuce Wrap - a must order. The diced mango really gave it a refreshing taste. Grill Salmon with Citrus Sauce and brown rice (I don't remember the exact name) - I didn't try, but salmon looks pretty juicy. Kona Grill Chicken and BBQ Ribs - very disappointed. Chicken was dry as tree bark, ribs was soft. The sauce that comes with the dish was extremely salty!! We had a coupon that night $20 for above meal. Our server was very nice and attentive.

This place was only "OK." Sean and I stopped in one night after hearing the mac n cheese was good and that they had decent burgers. I really like the decor of this place. Good job on that. But the menu is definitely all over the place. I wouldn't expect a chain restaurant to only sell African food though and somehow be successful (although African food is pretty much freaking amazing...and not just Ethiopian food, mind you!) so maybe they could be...but IDK.... I don't mind the variety if it's all at least 3-star quality, maybe even 4! But all I tried was mac n cheese. It was only "OK." 3/5 stars for sure. It reminded me of the lean cuisine mac n cheese from the frozen food aisle. Which isn't bad, but why would I go out of my way to come here when I could just buy frozen mac n cheese? It wasn't sharp enough IMHO. Sean had a burger. It was a little overcooked and they forgot the bacon. I also had a beer which was fine...pretty hard to mess that up. Service was alright. The waitress we had seemed nice but it looked like she was secretly pissed off that she had to wait on us. I was trying to explain that Sean doesn't want pickles on his burger and she was just nodding her head but looked like she didn't really care. It was...weird... but the food came out fast and she didn't mess up my order, so I really can't complain. The hostesses were really friendly, which is good because it's the first aspect of service you get as you first enter an establishment. I might go back to try other stuff on their menus (mixed drinks looked sinful!) but it's a bit of a drive for me.

This place was okay. The server who waited our table was not really interested in taking our order, but instead, flirting with me. As I tried to order my food, he kept interrupting me with comments about my eyes what what not. He did not write down anything that we ordered & came back multiple times to "double check" how I wanted my steak & what I wanted to drink. He then told me if I wrote a positive review & mentioned his name, that he would give us free dessert..

Elephant Bar is really quite an amusing place to visit. The decor is overtly African Safari, but the menu is more Pan Pacific. Do you think anyone should tell them that Africa is nowhere near the Pacific? It is listed as Asian Fusion, but I thought the menu was more Con-fusion; without a defined theme. We've been three times. First we were invited, then second and third on a gift card. The food is beautiful. We were seated by the kitchen at our last visit, and I enjoyed watching all the luscious food being carried out. I only wish it were as pleasant to the palate. We have found the food to be mediocre. The macadamia nut encrusted fish tasted old. Mac-n-cheese mostly tasteless. Sweet potato fries weren't bad, but nothing to get excited about. The green salad had a hair in it. When we told the waitress, she replaced it quickly without apology. Don't know if it was any good, since I didn't have the stomach to eat the replacement. If we ever receive another gift card for Elephant Bar, we will probably re-gift it to someone else.

I'm torn between 3 & 4 stars on this one. I've had some very good food here, but also some that reminded me of nuke-a-meal from the grocery. Overall I've been pleased as have the people with me, so a tentative 4 stars. All of my ratings are "relative" to expectations and price based on their intended place in the market. In this case the decor and prices are decidedly up market so my expectations are higher than simpler Asian and "fusion" places.

This review is mainly geared towards their happy hour. Their apps are really good, and super cheap, and they got great drinks for also very reasonable. Ivory Coast Margaritas are my favorite. I also like their buffalo chicken tenders. You can go get a few drinks and an app for about 15 bucks. Can't beat that.

I've tried many different meals and never been disappointed. In fact, theyve all been delicious. The ingredients taste fresh and the recipes have their own unique touch. There's a bit of a wait but, if you call ahead, you'll be fine.

Elephant Bar sounds like a cool place, until you find out that it's chain - and then notice that their theme and menu don't quite match up. (African jungle theme, but more Asian food on the menu...umm..different continents!) However, this place is close to work, making it a happy hour spot, and it's also a good place to meet friends coming from West County (you know, so they don't have to drive "all the way" to the city). Their happy hour specials are pretty great, and the few things I have eaten here have been surprisingly good (Shrimp Spring Rolls and Pad Thai). The fiance didn't like their burgers, though, so maybe pass on those. Elephant Bar isn't a place I would go out of my way to go to, but for an after work happy hour spot, it's definitely better than other area options.

This place has to be one of the neatest eats in the STL! The food is Delicious! They have so many choices from American, sea food, Italian, and of course Asian! The mac and cheese, chicken fingers, calamari, and spinach dip are some of my favorites! The atmosphere is so relaxed and the decor is safari like and very unique! The prices are very reasonable too! AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO TAKE A DATE!

I'm surprised I've just now got around to reviewing this restaurant. My friends think this is the best possible chain, so we tend to go here fairly frequently. Their happy hour is definitely a great deal with half-priced drinks & many appetizers on sale. Another plus is that it runs until 7PM, Monday through FRIDAY which is surprising since many happy hours do not occur on Friday. The food is fine. I like the atmosphere more than I like the food. Though it's executed well, the dishes themselves do not impress me that much. Also, they really don't have that many light options. Even the lighter fare could be improved. I wish when people would do a "light" menu, it would contain more than just a chicken breast, etc. I think Cheesecake factory has done the best job of this so far, and whaddayaknow!? It's also in a mall AND a chain. :) I'm sure I'll return, they've always accommodated my big groups and been friendly.

I wasn't totally sold, chain establishments are not always my first pick. On this visit my friend wanted to grab lunch so I agreed to give it a try. The place was packed, the kitchen was busy and everyone looked happy and content. I didn't really sense anything was too over the top knock my socks off, for the most part it was a standard chain experience with just "ok" food. Ordered the calamari (pic posted) it looked good, but didn't really find the texture or taste too appetizing. My entree I tried the most recommended dish, chicken teriyaki. It was really nothing special, an overly sweet teriyaki smothered over cooked pieces of white meat chicken chunks. The drinks were probably the best part. I tried a champagne cocktail made with passion fruit juice. My friend tried a martini something fruity (can't recall the name). I would return for drinks, not sure what happy hour is like here, but if it's a good deal I'd go!

We used to LOVE this place. Our last visit (about 6 months ago) kind of turned us off. They seemed to have changed their menu, and I'm not a fan. A lot of items remain, but the value has gone way down. For instance, the calamari is a favorite of mine. They are tender, lightly fried, and served with a creamy Asian dipping sauce that is out of this world. You used to get a generous portion served on a plate. Now they bring about half of the calamari portion served in a bowl atop crispy noodles and julienned vegetables. Veggies are nice, but it feels deceptive to me. We decided to try the restaurant again tonight. I got the ham and turkey on focaccia with a Caesar as my side. The meat was thick-cut and not a great quality. The focaccia tasted stale, and the Caesar only had dressing on about half of it. I got the chocolate chip cookie for dessert, and it was overcooked. Overall, I don't think I'll be eating here again anytime soon. It's a real shame because it used to be my favorite chain restaurant.

This has become one of my regular places to get one of my favorite beers - Hefeweizen. Its served nice and cold and it makes for a long day at work. The food pairings with the drink are good. I am a fan of their Smokehouse chicken sandwich and seem to go towards that at each visit. Their wait staff has been nothing but great each time I have visited, both in the bar and in the regular dining area.

We dropped in on a Saturday night and, aothough it was busy, we were seated immediately. The wine, and all entrees (mahi mahi, steak and stir fry) were all top notch. Service was prompt and courteous. Calamari appetizer was delightful - the perfect touch of seasoning and fry. We were able to get in and out and on to our next stop without delay. We were happy with the experience and will return.

The service and atmosphere were both great. We were in a larger group and they were very accommodating as we did not have a reservation. The food was good but not amazing. I'd come here again for sure.

For the record, I would much prefer to spend my time and money at a local restaurant rather than a chain. But there are times where I do crave some Applebee's, Red Robin or P.F. Chang's. I'm not proud of it, but my therapist said I no longer need to feel shame about my choices in life. When I do get a craving for something homogenous, Elephant Bar would NOT be a place that I'd pick again. After a long day at the West County Mall, both my boyfriend and I decided to grab dinner at Elephant Bar. I'd been there before for happy hour and had their appetizers. Their lettuce wraps and egg rolls are just fine. Nothing special, but for half price during the week, a girl can't be too picky. Dinner at Elephant Bar is a whole other story! Per my boyfriend's request, I ordered the Shrimp Adventure. Keep in mind that anything one orders at a chain with the words "Adventure", "Explosion" or "Ultimate Feast", know that the meal turns out to be nothing of the sort! It was basically shrimp battered and fried in three different ways. With some sad looking sweet potato fries on the side. The lamb shanks that my boyfriend ordered were dry and served with a gelatinous gravy. Blech! Maybe if I had ordered the orange chicken or lettuce wraps, the meal would have gone a little bit better. But we left that night feeling disgusted- both with our food and what we paid for it. A total waste. When deciding on where to eat, we usually joke about going to Elephant Bar because the meal was just so bad.

We went here years ago when it first opened and we remember two things about it: it was noisy and had mediocre food. We went back last night reluctantly because we were being treated to dinner. It was still noisy and the food was still mediocre. Oh, how I wish we could have heard what our hosts were saying to us as we ate our dinner. Service was fine. Menu was slapdash. Napkins were paper. Did I mention that the place was noisy?

I guess if you're in the area and starving Elephant Bar is an ok choice. Otherwise, I'm not sure why you'd go. I've been a couple times, once for happy hour and once for a business lunch, and I think twice was enough for me to realize it's not that good. It's one of those places that has a menu about 20 pages long, but nothing appealing on it. My last visit I got the Thai-High salad which is basically a bagged salad mix with some fried chicken bites coated in a sweetish sauce. It was ok, but so like something I could get in any chair restaurant across America. The restaurant itself seems really big with a decent sized bar area and a patio. Service has also been good when I've been there, but the food will prohibit me from going back.

I took my cousin to dinner at Elephant Bar last night for Valentine's Day. The noise level was high, but not jarringly so. We were seated a few minutes before our reservation time, and that was impressive, especially considering that it was a holiday and they were swamped. Our server was, from start to finish, fantastic. Friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and attentive. He provided good, solid recommendations about the drinks, entrees, and was always there to fill our water glasses at just the right time. The food was delivered quickly, but the courses didn't come out on top of each other - score. We ordered the artichoke dip and macaroni and cheese for starters, and the dip was the best I'd ever had. The macaroni was good, and provided another option for our appetites. We wanted to try their soup of the day, which was clam chowder, but didn't want much. The server offered to have the chefs split a cup into two bowls, and that was perfect. The soup itself was very runny, overly salty and briny, so not the brightest part of the meal. After that our entrees were delivered. I ordered the Shrimp Fettucine in Lobster Sauce and my cousin ordered a cheeseburger. She loved her meal, which made me happy. My pasta was okay, but the shrimp was a little overcooked and the sauce wasn't that tasty. The garlic cheese bread that accompanied it was undermelted. I ordered a French Pear martini and it was one of the best I've every had. Perfect in every way. Desserts were outstanding - my creme brulee was perfect, and my cousin got an amazing wonton sundae. Overall, I would go back to dine here. For a chain, it was heads above others.

I cant say that I am ever extremely impressed with Elephant Bar, but I always seem to leave happy. I haven't had a bad experience here which is probably a good thing, the food itself is average at best. The 25+ page menu covers pretty much everything from Asian, Italian, to even burgers, however the food is basically typical Applebees style, just a bit more upscale. I have only been here a handful of times and every time it has been for a business lunch, I have never thought to myself about going on my own unless it was someone else suggestion. I personally have always found more interesting places to eat on my own. If you are at the mall and sick of the food court type food, sure give it a try but if you are going out of your way look elsewhere.

Have been here twice, once for a business lunch and once during happy hr. Both times I was very satisfied with not only my food but also the service. When I went for lunch, the restaurant was quite busy, but we still managed to get our food in a reasonable amount of time. The menu is similar to the Cheesecake Factory in that it's pretty extensive and you're likely to find something you like. I ordered the Jambalaya lunch special ($8.95). Portion size was nice, and came with large pieces of chicken and shrimp, along with a side of garlic cheese bread. Delish! And just enough of a kick that I needed a few refills of my drink. During happy hour, they had great deals on appetizers and beers, along with a burger special. Burger, fries, and a beer, for around $6. Can't beat that! Any place that serves a pretzel appetizer with different cheese sauces is a winner in my book as well. Would definitely recommend the Elephant Bar if you're looking for a tasty, casual meal.

I used to love a day of shopping and then hitting this place before going home for a wonderful bite to eat.... that all changed last week! The burger was so greasy you couldn't even pick it up and the fish tasted like it went from a box in the freezer and to my table. The only thing that I enjoyed was... my wine.

Nice mix of entrees, several pages to read through! I enjoyed my macadamia encrusted chicken and had leftovers for later. Service was decent and they didn't mind when we lingered at the table after a late lunch. Surprisingly full for 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon and parking absolutely sucks. Mini traffic jam leaving because of all the cars waiting on spots!

I've been going to elephant bar off and on now for awhile.. mostly just because it made for a great place to enjoy a fun looking bar while the girls shopped at West County Mall. The decor and the mojitos are great!! Recently I started ordering more than just the appetizers, which are great in their own right, now I discovered the Quick Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. Soo good!! I ordered it the last three times I went and the flavors just pour out of that thing. I'm really into fitness now and having sushi grade tuna and edamame is a huge bonus of that salad. Defiantly recommend checking this place out! It's very fun but make sure you plan well to avoid the rush. Almost forgot, I was forced into trying the Citrus Cheesecake Brûlée.. that didn't stay on the table very long :-)

Last night was my first time at Elephant Bar and was there for a friends birthday. I will preface that we were a large table of 20+ and had two waitresses helping the party, but nothing was organized. It was as if they had never waited on a large table before. They were frazzled, looked exhausted and didn't take too kindly to anyone who made requests of another glass of water, let alone extra salad dressing. I felt bad for the waitstaff but then again I didn't... it was terribly frustrating when orders of food were coming out and we were having to pass plates around because the waitstaff couldn't figure out who ordered what and were randomly just naming dishes and waiting for the correct diner to raise their hand. It was chaos. I've had a better chain restaurant meal at Applebees, which came with better service. And hey, at least Applebees can figure out what theme of food they want to serve. (Anyone else think Elephant Bar's menu is a little all over the place?) The food was okay, but not really anything to write home about. I personally ordered a side Cesar salad and the sweet and sour chicken with brown rice. My sangria blanco was pretty tasty. I sampled a friend's macaroni and cheese, it was bland and had an odd texture to it and while the menu lists it being topped with breadcrumbs it was definately topped with crutons. I also tasted someone else's spinach dip which - WOW! - tasted as if someone poured a bottle of beer in it. The waitstaff didn't even ask if anyone wanted to order dessert, I think they were just ready to have us gone. But I will give kudos that the checks were split without trouble and the payment process went quickly. Elephant Bar was an odd one for me - it wasn't bad per say, but it wasn't good either. It's a chain restaurant in a mall parking lot so I feel like the prices matched this and were a little too high for the quality of food and service we received. Let's just say this place is very 'pedestrian.' A friend likened it to a bad wannabe Cheesecake Factory.

I've always wanted to try this place, even tho it's a chain. We went today for lunch and had a decent experience. To start off, we had to wait FOREVER and then my friend went up to the hostess only to find out our little tweaker didn't work and we had been "paged" long ago. But once we got seated, everything was good. I had a lettuce wrap and my friend had the chicken teriyaki. Both were really very good. The brown rice was great and so was everything else. The service was good and I wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

When it first opened many moons ago, it was different, tasty and very friendly. But we have not visited Elephant Bar for at least ten years and today decided to give it try. So sorry we did... I cannot come up we a single positive thing to say about the food! Awful, just plane awful! I had an open-face steak sandwich, and it was ridiculously salty and dry. My wife ordered something called Five Spice Shrimp and Chicken first and sent it back immediately because it was literally drenched in some extremely sweet and sticky souse. She then ordered Rib Eye Steak and prawns... We honestly tried to eat it, but we had to leave more than half of it untouched. She ordered it medium but it was medium rare, extremely salty, very fatty and rubbery. All in all the evening was ruined, and we will never ever go back there again. To be honest, mojito was OK and Sam Adams was good too.

This is place is dece. It's got a bar and the food is acceptable. It works for happy hours if you work near the place. Other than that it tastes like your other chain like restaurants. That's not a bad thing really. I would go back again and probably will.

Solaire wine and a oriental salad it was pretty decent. I did really like their bruschetta though. It's ok priced and I had great service from the bartender. (I sat at the bar.) She even told me the Pan Pacific drink was nasty before I ordered it which is awesome. I love when they tell you truth and actually describe why it is awful. (in this case the ginger is overpowering.)

There is honestly something for everyone at this place. Their menu is HUGE and I am not exaggerating! They have a large drink menu too including some fabulous martini's so I was a happy girl! The pear martini was very good. The food, however, was not bad, but my meal did not go into my top 10 best meals ever. The design of this place is by far the reason I keep coming back. A jungle/african theme with tons of great touches. Check out the fans when you're there...my favorite part! A great place for anything really, from business to birthday lunches/dinners. Service was also very prompt and friendly. I recommend you give it a try!

Okay, so, I'm not saying the food here is good. It's not. BUT... The pad Thai at Elephant Bar? The best Pad Thai I've EVER HAD!!! Go here just to eat the Pad Thai. Don't order anything else. Then tell me you didn't like it. I don't know exactly why it's so good. But it is loaded with veggies. And it's consistently good...and it's just awesome. And I've had Pad Thai at tons of Thai places, so I'm ashamed to say Elephant Bar's is the best. But it is. It's not that spicy though so if you want spicy, you might want to go elsewhere.

Being in town from Chicago, I forget that not all restaurants are smoke-free. As it is in my home town, very nice. And aside from the overwhelming large menu, the food I had, service and atmosphere were great. It is hard to decide with so many choices, thinking to myself, "how can anything be good/fresh if all this stuff is crammed back there in the kitchen?" I played it safe and ordered the Fire Grilled Chicken Citrus Salad. The chicken was hold on a fresh bed of lettuce, and the dressing was paired perfectly. My friend had the Crispy Teriyaki Chicken, served hot with just enough spice. Both excellent. The service was friendly, attentive, and helpful.

I guess I'll start at the beginning.... My husband and I first dined at Elephant Bar in Southern California for lunch years ago and it was so good, we brought back some friends a few weeks later for dinner....It was horrible; mediocre food, horrendous service -- our appetizer was brought to the table after dessert, but since this review is for the Des Peres location, I will spare you the details... I first dined at the Des Peres location several months after it first opened. I ordered the lamb, but it was completely fat...there was not a bit of meat on my plate...for the first time ever; I had to return my entrée! I ordered a burger, but it took an usually long time, and it did not come out until after everyone else was eating...very, very disappointed, I have not been there since last night when I couple of my girl friends suggest we meet there for happy hour, which was decent. The service was what I would consider good and the reduced price appetizers and drinks made for a cheap meet-up with the girls. I had two of the same cocktails, but they did not taste the same...Elephant Bar is just too inconsistent.

It's still open when I get off of work and it is close by. I usually don't have to wait for service and my wife and I are seated right away. We love the Sweet Potato Fries with the spicy catsup. The tomato bisque has been a favorite of mine and my wife really enjoys the lamb shanks. With reasonable prices and decent food/service, Elephant Bar is a regular stop for us.

We went for lunch and all liked our entrees. The problem was that they took a long time to get. We had to ask if our lunch was ready and then about 5 minutes later it was brought out. I had the ahi tuna salad and the tuna was excellent. I actually wish I would have just ordered the ahi tuna entree. I also tried the garlic bread. It was really good and thankfully we had it to munch on while waiting an extra long time for our lunch.

So we spent a long evening at the mall taking pic so we wanted food that was close, we went here with a party of 12. We sat down within 20 minutes or so. not to bad, The food was good service kinda slow they did get the kids food out pretty quick they were really hungry but the rest of us waited awhile, The menu is rather large, lots of options for everyone. Club sandwich and salad combo is good, lettuce wrap is good and drinks were very tasty. Every one in the party was pleased no complaints.

Smoke Free Restaurant...YAY!!!!! Other than that, this place is surprisingly decent. I was not expecting much...I was expecting an Asian Fusion version of Applebees to be quite honest, but I was pleasantly surprised by how truly good this place is. My sister, my 5 month old niece (hence my happiness at the smoke free) and myself popped in here after a long, drawn out shopping excursion as West County Mall. I had the veggie burger which was quite delicious. They were more than happy to substitute a salad for the fries that inevitably come with anything labeled "burger" and they didn't charge me for it. AWESOME. My sister had the opposite and got the French Dip and polished it off very quickly. My niece slept and then had some bottle... The service was decent and what you expect from a big chain like this, but certainly not bad service. Since I was there in the middle of the week for lunch, I do wonder what the dinner/happy hour rush would look like here since the bar seems to be a focal point in the restaurant. My experience, as a quick, pleasant and filling lunch, however, was fantastic.

This is a really good place for a chain restaurant (we lived by one in the bay area). They have a pretty big menu ranging from asian fusion to american. It is always super busy it seems (being right outside the mall) and the food is good. It is a safe place to take unadventurous eaters as they can get a burger while you get a lamb shank or mongolian beef. Why I personally go there? They have tofu. In St. Louis, that is a rarity. I'm totally amending this as the food has gone really downhill. We go here only when we don't have a choice and the veggie burger is now horrible and I swear the stir fry is more and more sauce and less and less veggies.

I absolutely love the décor in this place! It has a tropical feel to it, from the elephants adorning the bar to the leaf-shaped ceiling fans. They did a great job decorating it without making it looking over-the-top or cheesy. The food is also really good. Anything with shrimp is sure to be delicious. I've also had one of their burgers, which was good. It's also a good place to get a drink. They have a really cool bar with pretty original drinks, and every time I've been there their bartenders are attentive. My only complaint is the proximity to West County Mall. Okay, this is extremely convenient when you want to go to a decent restaurant directly after a shopping spree, but it also makes the restaurant crowded frequently. There's been a few times where it's taken me a while to find a parking spot. You might also want to plan for a short wait, though I haven't had to wait every time I've been there.

The food is good but it comes at a cost. Their food has so much sodium it's insane. After I saw the sodium content of their foods from their website I am def not going back.

Great food at reasonable prices, and they have a terrific happy hour with cheap drinks and appetizers. Decor is a little tacky but we do really like coming here.

Whenever I come here, there's always a very wide selection of food and great service. The food is some of the best I've ever had, and the service last time was lightening fast! I wasn't hungry for long. I would very much recommend this place!

Last Friday 8 colleagues and I ate at this restaurant for lunch. I loved the ambiance. A young gentleman named Martin was our waiter. He was very attentive. It was a bit loud but that was because they were very busy. I tried the tortilla soup. It was delicious! I also had the jambalaya for my main course. I couldn't stop eating it-very good! I will definitely be back very soon!

Food is good. I love the Ahi tuna. They have a special sauce with it that is just to die for. The only that I've order here that I didn't like was some sort of burrito. Everything else is great, including the drinks! Service is nice and atmosphere is cool.

I really like this place. It's close to work, the atmosphere is great and I always seem to have good service. The food selection is incredible, you can find something for just about anyone. With all the selections, I ended up this visit with the chicken tenders, which have a dark crispy breading and the honey mustard they use complements them very well. Also, try the coconut shrimp. Now you have to like coconut, because they do have a strong coconut taste, but they are very good.

Came for dinner. Sat at the bar. The bartender was nice and we were assisted immediately upon sitting. It is pretty loud in that area. Enjoyed the Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. We had the coconut shrimp skewers...good with or without the sauce. Breadsticks with marinara sauce.... it was ok. Bread was warm. Chicken lettuce wrap was ok as well. A bit spicy but not too much. Spinach artichoke dip was pretty good. I would came back again though.

We stopped in for a late night snack. Late night options in this neighborhood are pretty limited, but on Fridays the bar here serves apps until they close at midnight. .We sat at a table in the bar, but the bartender came out and served us. He did a fine job. The ambience was great - not too loud, not too bright. Classy and comfortable. We had a couple of glasses of wine. I like that they put it in a little decanter for you. It seemed like we were having a couple of glasses instead of just one. For a snack, we tried the tempura salmon rolls. Why did we order sushi at a chain restaurant? It's a question for the ages. All I can say is it sounded good. The pieces of the roll were tempura battered and fried, so it was kind of unusual as sushi goes, but for us right then it tasted pretty good. It's not likely we'll go back, since we generally avoid chains and don't live close. But it was a good stop for us. I recommend it if you're in the neighborhood.

A friend picked this restaurant for a Saturday lunch because it was one of his favorites. Overall the experience was wonderful. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She made recommendations and answered all our questions. The head chef actually brought us our appetizer and ended up comping our meal because he said we "looked like nice people." I have never had this happen to me and I thought it was the nicest gesture. The food was good and the menu is extensive. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something new.

I'm not sure why this restaurant does not have a perfect 5 star rating. The restaurant makes you feel like you just stepped into Africa, the decor is amazing. The food is nothing short of perfect either. I had the French onion sliders, my boyfriend had the Philly cheese steak, and we both about licked our plates when we were done. Staff was friendly and service was great. We got our appetizer after about 5 minutes and our meals 5 minutes after that. We will be back!

This restaurant has good food.... Horrible staff. We had a party of 5 people which we made reservations for a week in advance for a Saturday at lunch. Reservation was at 12pm we were seated by 12:05 BUT we didn't get ANY drinks until after 12:20pm.... Really? The majority of the table ordered water Upon finally receiving our drinks I ordered apps for the table. We received our apps via a food runner, finished both of our apps and it ALL that time we never received a refill on our drinks and we STILL had NOT ordered any entrees. It took over 2 hours to have lunch there. The place was not busy so my only conclusion is that the staff sucks. Food was OK. Nothing to rave about.

Personally, I don't see why some people give low reviews for such a fantastic restaurant right next to the West County mall. The first time I came here, I came with a good friend. I also come here during an intimate date...or two (ahem, I come back because its so good!) The first time I came, we both had a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad at all. I managed to order the niu niu shrimp coconut skewers and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potatoe fries. While we were waiting, we managed to enjoy the ambiance of this place. The decor seemed to be a huge mixture between Africa and Pan-America. There are huge palm tree fans that greet you when you walk into the restaurant lobby. There are murals and paintings of different animals such as elephants. The wait for the food wasn't exactly long and everything was very delicious. I ordered the ice cream mud pie, but a word of warning, the mud pie was huge! This might be a dessert for two people, not one. The only negative was that the server needs to come back a bit more frequently for drink refills, but this did not impact the deliciousness of the food one bit! I think that if I had a chance, I would definitely go back!

I don't remember much about my first time at EB but we went last week for happy hour and I was really impressed. Our group sat in the bar area and there were great deals for the happy hour. Drinks were great priced as well as the appetizers. We opted to get dinner however and our food was amazing. The fries were awesome!! Our server was friendly as she could be with being the only one for 7 different tables. Our teas and other drinks were filled as needed. We will definitely be back to try other things on their expansive menu.

The server was nice and we enjoyed the decor, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. My boyfriend and I both ordered the steak and prawn meal. Neither of us touched the "garlic" instant mashed potatoes. They were watery and bland. We eat instant mashed potatoes all of the time - it's a very difficult thing to mess up. The steak was overpriced. I could tell from the first bite that it was a cheap steak. The vegetables were drenched in butter. Presentation of the meal was great, but every bite left you disappointed. It tasted like a left over meal that they zapped in the microwave in the back. The only thing decent about the meal was the side salad that my boyfriend ordered. I got the side of mac and cheese and it tasted like paste and solidified cream instead of cheese. I picked at my meal and left hungry and annoyed that we paid $73 dollars for one of the worst meals that I have had out. We didn't even order drinks. In comparison, I can go to Tucker's Place and get two bacon wrapped filets, baked potato, salad and multiple drinks for less than what I paid tonight. If I ever come back, I would only order drinks and maybe an appetizer. It doesn't even deserve one star...

disappointing visit last night. I've been several times before and had good experiences but not sure I will go back again. a friend and I sat down at the bar around 6 (which was not busy at all) and waited quite a while watching 2 bartenders. when we finally got to order, we were first told they were out of one of the food items, then that they were also out of the beer I ordered.

The Elephant Bar in West County is a pretty decent place to eat when out at the mall. The menu is a decent price and the portions are large enough for two meals. They also offer a large 500 calorie or less menu. Every time I visit this restaurant I order the Seared Tuna with brown rice, sea weed and tofu off of the healthy menu. The tuna is a decent quality and they give you enough brown rice for multiple meals. I tend to eat here when visiting my family while in St. Louis. I've had better but I've never really been disappointed here.

Great staff right off the bat!!!! Great Manager - Billy Andrews!! The food was amazing. We don't usually try anything new, but it was highly reccomended. For obvious reasons too! The chicken lettuce wraps were really good and the lime cilantro salsa was so very tasty! We ordered burgers and caeser salad (both wonderful), but next time I am taking the plunge and getting something more Asian Fusian! I will repost then! OMG almost forgot - I had the house margarita and it was WONDERFUL! And I say that lightly, I am super picky when it comes to alcoholic drinks... This place is a must

The safari theme of the Elephant Bar is carried into the restrooms. When you first walk in you will notice the beautiful vanity with granite counter tops and Kohler sinks, but when you look around you will soon notice that the stalls are uneven, there are old nail anchors in the wall, and the floor tile is kind of dirty. It was as if the owners were trying to polish up an old McDonald's bathroom by adding some fancy sinks and a picture of safari animals. The toilet paper was not the thickest or the softest I had ever used, but it is a step up from two-ply tissue paper so I will applaud the effort. As someone who suffers with shy bladder syndrome, I was really pleased that there was music playing in the bathroom to drown out the sounds of my duties. The restrooms at the Elephant Bar are not super fancy but they are pretty clean and practical. I would have to give this bathroom experience four out of five stars.

I think the elephant bar is a good place to go if you want to try something near the mall. I had a friend in town and we decided to try it. The food wasn't exactly piping hot, it was just luke-warm. The food was good, but not anything to get excited over! The drinks always taste good though. I would go back for the bar and atmosphere.

You have heard the saying, 'jack of all trades, master of none'. Well when your menu reads like a book, you're sure to be accused of this from time to time. I can't really say there was anything wrong with our visit; but nothing made it stand out either. We may try it again sometime, when we find ourselves out that way. But I won't be craving it at 2:30 on some idle Tuesday, and think to myself, WE HAVE TO GO HERE TONIGHT!

So me and my friends finally all had a day off to hang out and we were starving! We had spent the day out and about shopping an ended up at the west county mall. It was about 6:00 when we all decided it was time to grab some grub but mall food did not sound so great.... So we all pulled out our phones and began to google restaurants in our area when Deanna said "hey! I'll pay for dinner since you guys take me out all the time." All a sudden I just shouted out "The Elephant Bar!" Since none of us have gone there we had no idea what to expect but I had heard it was fancy and good so away we went! So at first glance it looks really cool but also kinda small. The best part of the outside is the elephant shaped door handles. When walking in I was blown away, almost as if I had stepped into the TARDIS! But not in a good way.... It is very big inside but they have too many seats if that makes sense? They turned the large interior into a small space by adding to many booths and tables! Now there is a lot going on as well, so if you don't have fun looking at the zebra striped ceiling or the tiger striped carpet, then how about watching the swaying fans at the front.. Do those even work??? And to add on it was VERY loud to much chatter from other tables! Hard to hear the waiter but he did not seem to mind me asking him to repeat himself. Now on to the yummy stuff! After we got seated we flipped those menus open and began to scan. And wow they have a lot of different stuff, or is it just a lot of photos so it looks like they do?? I thought the "book" sized menu was to jammed there was more photos and less on the descriptions of the food. But those photos sure did make the food look good so I picked a tasty looking item which was the teriyaki chicken with fried rice and steamed vegetables. My friends both ordered a burger because by the time the waiter came to take our orders they had forgotten what they wanted... Oh by the way did I mention it took about 15mins to get our order taken? Now I know it was packed but we prolly only saw our waiter about 3 times during our hour and a half meal.... It took 25 mins for our food to come which I thought was very quick for the fact it was packed and I was ready to dig in! The food looked delicious! And it tasted pretty good! And I think the price for the size of food was very good! I was the only one to finish but the girls had to take theirs home.. Oh and the burgers were BIG! With a pretty good size of fries on the side. Now to the point no meal is good without a beverage and I had ran out of sprite while waiting for the food and did not get a refill until after my meal... SAD FACE! The waiter was no were to be seen and the others were in such a hurry I couldn't ask for a refill.. And it was so LOUD I don't think they would have heard me anyway.. Time to wrap this review up! Now I'm very reluctant to give The Elephant Bar 4 stars but I guess I must... The first star is for appearance, yes they do have a lot going on but it gave us things to talk about besides the daily norm. The second and third star are for menu originality and price, there are a lot of different food types to pick from so if you go with a picky eater they will most likely find something to satisfy their taste buds. And for the price "more bang for your buck!" the sides are a good size and the helpings are good but it's not enough for two... And the forth star is for!! TASTE!! Now I thought the food was prepared very well an tasted amazing! I had the side of mac&cheese and it was supper good!!! So if your looking to try something new and have a friend who mistakenly said "I'll pay" without thinking then this is the place to go! Oh and for the three of us to eat it cost around 50$ that's with a extra side a bowl of soup and dessert!

Ate dinner with a friend. We started with the coconut shrimp. This was good albeit typical. this didn't necessarily stand out. The chicken marsala that my friend had was very tasty and served on mashed potatoes. I had the honey glazed shrimp with cajun rice and my meal was extraordinary. Our server was also marvelous and was thoughtful and attentive.

This place was a big mess when we went. It was a slow Tuesday so I dont get it. The females bathroom was disgusting...unsanitary products on the floor, the sink counter top was full of water and the empty paper towel roll was in the water, the trash bin was over flowing. The staff was standing in the pass talking and laughing, clearly the bathrooms had not been checked in a very long time. My friend said the men's restroom was in the same condition. It was so bad that I sent corporate a letter, I thought they should know, provided them my email and address and they never responded...not that I wanted anything in return, but just to acknowledge that they received it would be nice. Hence the bad review. Guess it starts from the top.

This is place is dece. It's got a bar and the food is acceptable. It works for happy hours if you work near the place. Other than that it tastes like your other chain like restaurants. That's not a bad thing really. I would go back again and probably will.

I must say I was excited about trying this place. Our daughter wanted to try it for her 19th birthday. The atmosphere is very nice but the food left a lot to be desired. Save your money and go elsewhere.

EXCELLENT SERVICE... great food... I personally love the Crispy Teriyaki Chicken and the Shrimp & Crab Cakes... Happy hour drink and food specials are probably the best in the area... I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

The food is good but it comes at a cost. Their food has so much sodium it's insane. After I saw the sodium content of their foods from their website I am def not going back. The average meal has at least 2500mg of sodium. Your arteries won't thank you down the road. This place is def not for the health freaks.

this is my second time here, and I have to say I've never experienced worst service in a restaurant. the service here is atrocious they're not very welcoming the menu is blah nothing to write home about . I'd experience to male servers now. both of them need a lesson in basic service skills. what a waste !

Biggest plus - smoke free! Food - vast menu. Service, not bad. Last couple of times there, the food has been kind of so-so. I think that's subjective on my part, though - worth a visit for sure if you haven't been. Hopping place - always busy. 1/9/07 - have to boost the rating. Go here all the time now, and I've had great experiences the last 6 or 7. hln

Good food and great service. It was crowded on a Thursday evening and we had to wait half an hour for our table. I'll suggest calling ahead to make a reservation. It is not very expensive and has great ambiance.

It was just okay. Pretty cool place and the martini was perfect, but the food was just not that good. It wasn't horrible, but I cant say I would go there again.

Great atmosphere and gorgeous painted mural on the cathedral ceiling over the bar. The lettuce wraps are fabulous.

No thanks.

Came here with a group of 7 people. Everyone was please with the food. Service was great. Noise in the place was a little loud, but for a Friday night they were busy. Almost no wait time at our reserved time.
